McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

About to head to the HC for a role in ProdOps and Strategy in Mountain View. 4 YoE at MBB, no competing offers. Recruiter gave me a form that asks expected comp.
Levels.fyi has only PM salaries. I haven’t been told the level but expect it to be L4.
What total comp would you expect for this role? Any advice would be super helpful, as I’m a bit lost.

I think it should be 3 1. Hr Interview to check for a pulse/culture fit/base requirements 2. Technical interview to make sure you have the qualifications 3. General team members or boss interview. Anything more is looking for the perfect candidate at every angle and frankly starts to waste the time and energy of the candidate. I had one process where it was 6 interviews and I didnt get it. I felt that they had wasted my time. I was tired/destoryed/angry about the whole thing. Hiring needs to go back to basics or have a way of compensating candidates because the asks are ridiculous.
The worst part is there's nothings I can do ! Hiring teams get to call the shots with no repercussions.

Google did a study on this and determined they were most successful with choosing candidates after 4 interviews. I think 4 is excessive when you consider the fact that every applicant is applying to (and interviewing for) multiple roles at the same time. We have a limited amount if vacation/sick time and wven more limited excuses to miss work.
Yes 4 sounds a lot to me.
I've said this many times before and I'll keep saying it. Unless you are going for a departmental level of above, you shouldn't need more than two face to face interviews.
This doesn't include pre or post interview work. Multiple phone calls and emails are fine, but meeting after meeting, no. There's too much time effort and expense that goes into an interview to justify it all.
Yes
I just did 2 rounds in addition to a screener that took 10 weeks from application to offer. I had a parallel process going where I’ve done a screener and first round but am nearing week 6 before scheduling second round. Frustrating.
This is so long!
