If Trump can make it this far in an election anything is possible

I worked that much overtime this past month.

It seems like it could be possible if a firm strategically selected industries and clients so that work is steady through the year, and then hire enough people to do the work.

like

I think the SEC deadlines make it near impossible to do this. It clients had more than 60 days to file the 10-K I could see this being more feasible. You can only have so many people working on certain areas before its inefficient and cost ineffective

like

A lot of the larger firms already do that. They call it a flexible work options.

We have seasonals for tax busy season in compliance. They make more money then we do! Sweet overtime... 💵💵💵

It's certainly possible

I worked only about 120 hours of OT this past year

Probably only if they hired temp employees for the busy parts to keep hours down. But if they can pay you the same salary and you work those hours as them paying you and a temp to work the over 40 part, they lose money. And they know it.

Ya, I have also thought of the idea of having a workplace where the best talent who leave to raise their kids can come back during busy season part-time to shoulder the burden of the other year-round staff. I am sure a lot of stay at home parents would love that opportunity.

Switch to federal advisory....it's possible and no travel too

Yes; it is called consulting or internal audits

🐠, I was laid off from industry during covid and started consulting this year, which was a step back in terms of level and salary. I have received an offer that would allow me to course-correct and advance past where I was before. I like my current firm and have put a lot of effort into making it my new home; however I don’t like my project and am stuck on it. I am terrified of making a move so soon into a role that isn’t a fit or worse, results in another layoff. Appreciate all perspective!

As I actively look for another job, the question that keeps popping in my head is how I will resign. I work for a small company and just negotiated a remote work arrangement. I also work as head of HR.. how does a head of HR resign? Do I have to stay long enough to hire and train someone to replace me? The company denied my request of hiring a U.S. based generalist so they're kind of (for lack of better term) screwed. However, what if I have to leave on short notice? What are my responsibilities

I have a decent book. TV. Clever lines. Some press recognition. No major awards. (My agency hasn’t won a creative award in 10 plus years).

My favorite ideas die before clients, with clients, or during pitches. In my opinion, they are more conceptual, insightful, and representative of the irreverent work I want to make. Common problem.

I’m looking to move, hopefully a promo, but haven’t shown spec in years. Any recruiters/hiring managers/ECDs have a POV on including these ideas and how?

Now I got married and moved to UK , plus we have got a baby in 2019 so now I am looking for a job in UK having 3 years of career break. Although, I am getting CIPD lvl 7 diploma this year. I am not ready for team leader's role now . So my question is about HR area, where could I find a job with my only Russian experience? HR generalist, C&B analyst, HR BP, recruiter?

How do you approach giving feedback to your boss who is not great at managing, but became your friend? I’ve been in this situation twice. Both times required me to escalate it to their bosses (direct feedback didn’t work or wasn’t an option), but I was afraid to shatter our friendship this way because it would’ve been obvious that I told on them. I’m still good friends with both, and while I no longer work with them, I still wouldn’t bring myself to tell them.

Guys, I know many of us IT employees have our own portfolio website to share knowledge and our experience so other community members can get benefit from it and also know we all are good in something like doing some Side business or earning from freelance etc so why not share whatever you want to share in comments so all other members can get and learn from it either it is new people or experienced people basically at the end we all can get benefit from it . Please I request you all to share.
