Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Yes
Be silly not to. At some point it felt like every quarter, either at work or in the industry.
Ive been at the same agency since 2008. I still have an irrational fear of being laid off.
It me!
Yes. And yet I have never been laid off, so perhaps I need to get out of my own negative headspace and just enjoy what I have while I have it.
We just gotta take it day by day! And If we get laid off- it was supposed to happen that way
In an advertising agency, yes. Go in house to industry and it's more stable.

Yes. I took a job where everyone was getting laid off and they were like “why’d they hire you when everyone else is getting laid off.” It was a miserable situation and I couldn’t answer that question with any confidence. So, I quit. Took a job that wasn’t a dumpster fire. Stopped worrying and learned to love. Now I spend my mornings cawing with the seabirds. Spend my days skipping and winking at golden retrievers. Spend my nights sleeping heavily with not a single tear on my bone dry pillow.
