You’ll have to resign yourself that if this great opp is here now, that another great opp will be there tomorrow. But it won’t be the same opp. Probably won’t be the same agency. But you also won’t be the same recruitee. In short, if you want to great opp take it. If it’s not the right time make what you are doing now great.
Absolutely. Good talent is hard to find. I keep in touch and often hire people months or years later.
Yeah. I think your best bet is grace and transparency right now and if they’re a decent place they’ll meet you with that back. Something to the tune of, hey I’ve agonized and your place is where I see myself in the next move but there’s xyz I’ve had ownership over at work now and seeing that through means a lot can we keep in touch.
I got my current job that way, they reached back out. Admittedly that’s probably not common. You’d have to gauge their reaction, in my case they ate up the loyalty and called me like 6 months later.
