Is IA actually a good stepping stone to ops or finance? I’m considering a move into internal audit for a Fortune 500 because the travel looks decent and the pay is a 20% bump. However, my friends in external audit keep saying that IA is where careers go to die and that I’ll be bored out of my mind checking T&E reports for the next decade. I want a life, but I don’t want to become irrelevant in the job market five years from now.

I think it will pigeon hole your experience if that is not what you see yourself doing long term. Most other industry / advisory jobs will give you good work life balance.

All these weddings are blowing my mind and budget. I've had 5 weddings so far this year with several more to go by EoY. On top of that I've been asked to be in a lot of them which adds additional time commitment and cost. The cost of a bachelor party + shitty men's warehouse suit rental + travel and airbnb for the weekend + couple hundred bucks for wedding gift means I'm blowing tons of money for these weddings but I feel bad to say no.

Lyft driver delayed picking me up 30 min, resulting in me canceling my ride and asking hotel to call me a “yellow taxi” to get to the airport because it was 5am and all ubers/lyfts were 15 min. Specifically said yellow. Hotel calls me a private lux SUV and the driver got out of the car to handshake the man who called and said hi (honestly money couldve been passed). I then get hit with a $180 ride. Marriott website says taxi should be $65. Should I complain or let it go?

Anybody else noticed recruiters are only proactively reaching out about hybrid/on-site roles nowadays?

It's almost as if people don't want to be in offices anymore so that's why it's difficult for them to fill those roles.
Sidenote: recruiters, you can see on my LI profile that I'm remote. In the "What jobs are you interested in" field you can see I'm only interested in remote roles.
So, why are you reaching out to me about jobs in a city 3 hours away that's 100% onsite and w/out even a ReLo?

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.
