Better to just get fired. Not sure what firm you work for but at B4 no one can disclose you have been fired. They can only confirmed dates of employment - in case you were asking for future employment concerns.
I would continue to stay while still looking for a new job. Make them fire you so that you get a severance. Being fired isn’t as big of a deal nowadays. You can explain to recruiters and employers that the previous job just wasn’t a good fit and that you’ve agreed with management that it was best to part ways.
Why? Are you getting fired?
Better to quit but I disagree with being so forthcoming, just take PTO if you can.
Also you don't get unemployment if you quit
Get fired so u don’t have to pay any bonus back and draw unemployment!!!
I was on PIP last year... now I’m tier 2 getting promoted to senior... if you want the title stay and make them fire you.
You will leave for another crappy job for the sake of leaving
PWC 2 hit it right on the head.
However, keep in mind, should you choose the fired route, your severance package may depend on how many years of service you had with the firm. That could vary from at least 2-4weeks or pay.
With that said, if you’re already interviewing, and happen to get a job offer, it could end up all in your favor
Better to quit. Be honest with your manager and say I don’t think it’s a good fit. Would you be fine if I leave early on some days to interview ? That way you can still have a paycheck while you interview.
@senior associate 1 - getting word that I'm getting put on a PIP, which is PA speak for start looking. been on interviews but getting no offers hence and I'm afraid I'd run out of time before the inevitable
