Is it fairly smooth to transition to CDI without inpatient coding experience? I have my RHIA but have been apprehensive to get into CDI. I feel like I have transferable skills from my background in profee coding, coding educator and having payor side experience. Is it necessary to get IP coding experience or just jump ship for the challenge?

Try outpatient CDI if you have outpatient ICD 10 CM coding experience. I am a CDI specialist currently working at outpatient facility, I had done profee coding and medical experience as foreign MD.

May I ask what state you work in? Personally, would a outpatient facility like yours be open to allowing individuals to shadow? Or hire someone without experience thus willing to train ?

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.

Hi fishes, I have 2 offers-
Thermo Fisher for Data Engineer in AWS and Python and Ameriprise as Lead Developer for Informatica Powercenter. Ameriprise is offering 50k more in my monthly salary than Thermo Fisher. My preference is to join in where I can grow and get a good learning for future career growth. Also, work life balance should be good in the organization.
Please help me with making a clear decision. And i have 8+ YOE.

I know they are on a hiring spree so would coming in as a Manager be possible? I’ve previously been on M&A audit/AAS engagements.
