Is it just me, or does it seem like the lower you are on the pay scale, the more work is expected of you? I'm making minimum wage and I know I'm expected to do so much more than the salaried staff or shift leads.

As a leader your job duties are to oversee the work and make sure it’s being done properly and on time. It’s very hard to do that if you are busy with tasks that require you to be in a fixed place.i know for me my tasks are based around making sure my team has what they need to do their job and evaluating their work.

The less you make the more physical the work you do is. I’m not quite management but have been promoted and while I’m not on the floor physically moving boxes I am doing more work, and more stressful work than ever before.

So I was so excited to have scaled through all the intensive trainings by this trust, only to get the greatest shock of my life, we were promised since we passed the 4 trainings we will be automatically trained till we are fit to take calls independently, shockingly myself and my other 2 coloured colleagues were laid off the same day. I was traumatised because the feedback given were all lies I was told I could pronounce burnt as a coloured lady and that I could pronounce some medical words .. others got welfare calls I didn’t get any and we were laid off at different stage of support.. still job hunting for the past 3 months and now I just got an email that the trust is desperately in need of call handlers for immediate employment. Frustrated by how I was treated and still traumatised and here I am with my bills stacking up … I was side tracked and stigmatised. Should I re apply since it’s a new director now … I am so confused

I agree , upper management usually expects that to happen.. unless you have management like I do.. my management treats everyone as equals and if not they are no longer needed with me. I would like all business to reflect my point of view

You are right about this 👍

Hi Everyone, I am trying to apply for a Technical Support role at Dropbox I’m entering all the required fields but there seems to be an issue, when I hit submit after filling the form, it doesn’t submit and throws error ‘Looks like you left this blank! Please fill out this required field’ when all the fields are entered already (I have checked so many times, and filled the form from scratch several times too). Anyone from Dropbox who can put me in touch with HR or suggest what I should do next?

I’m curious why more non-US citizens interested in FIRE don’t go live in a no/low tax jurisdiction even for a few years e.g. Dubai, some Caribbean islands. I get that some people will have family circumstances (e.g. elderly parents to look after) so it won’t be possible for them, but for a significant proportion it will be an option

Currently asking around for others that work in the hospitality industry specifically banquets or banquet serving what is the tip pool break down at your hotel servers, captain, houseman, house percentage do you think your paid fairly from the tip pool?

Hi, I'm an employee at a hotel chain who works remotely. I've been working remotely for over a year now and I love it! The company I work for is very supportive of remote workers, which is great.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.
