Hi there, I have 3.5 YOE working for NHS Finance. I applied to Deloitte Risk Advisory, Public Sector (London, UK) and was successful. Waiting to hear back with package offer but it’s been over 2 weeks - was told they may offer M2 grade, any ideas what this is?
I’m also interviewing for Senior consultant role also at Deloitte. How much would this typically pay?
Torn whether to stay within NHS as I will be getting an internal promotion or move to Deloitte.
What’s the WLB like? Good job security?

Yes I did two years in consulting before going into banking. What banks are you targeting?
Was pretty tough for me given I was at an average consulting firm. Networked heavily and just got lucky with my current bank.
Would think the BCG name should get you some looks from the lower BB banks. If having trouble off resume alone then make sure you include some sort of financial modeling experience.
Other than that, just need to network hard. I’m sure you have some college alums at those banks you can connect with
Why would you want to make a switch? You’ll lose your free weekends :-)
Doesn't really bother me, I'm happy to make the trade off for a better alignment of my interests/my work
I have made that switch into a BB. Happy to discuss further if you want.
Awesome, will pm
How about going for MBA and recruiting as summer associate? You can avoid the gruelling analyst stint. That’s assuming IB is your end game and not PE.
Overall consulting gives better experience at entry level and banking at mid-junior to senior level.
Op. I made the switch from consulting to IB in the last year. Happy to connect if you have any questions
