BCG or McKinsey for consumer goods/retail?
Bain & Company Hey! Got dinged at BCG and Mck and then hadn't heard back from Bain, but just found out I made it to final rounds. I haven't been prepping for over a week as it'd be two since my first round at Bain.
Help! Whats different or similar about Bain final rounds? I'm applying to Texas offices for an experienced AC role. I also may have to have an accelerated final round as I'm leaving the country for most of April. Bain & Company

Associate at McKinsey usually requires at least 4-5 YoE
Agree with McK - the Consultant level at Bain isn’t really “entry level” given that all the people with advanced degrees have 3-5 years experience. Hires from other consulting firms tend to step down a level to join Bain (eg a Manager becomes a consultant).
Actually PhDs have worked in academia (it’s no where near just going to school, most PhDs I know have workplace experience from it). Obviously a completely different job (same for teachers who join MBB after a MBA) but across the board people are coming with 3-5 years of experience.
Same as above for BCG
I went from EM -> associate and was from a “top boutique” as per M1’s example
Fwiw - pay from my boutique was much lower that I got a pay bump going down
I am curious what firms fall within the category of “top boutiques”. Genuine curiosity.
