I have recently joined EY SaT group as senior consultant recently in Netherlands. I’m tripple masters in MS economics, MBA and MS business analytics. Have 4 YOE in different industries but no M&A experience specifically. Any ideas what company should be offering me? I’ll be working as expert on commercial due diligence, FDD and valuation teams and doing automation alongside. is it wise to demand higher salary or promotion soon after I have proven that I can work and do it better than most?EY

The past couple cycles have been rougher than average. Before Covid I think a number of corporate backgrounds were able to get MBB slots it’s been harder post 22 so more seats are taken by traditionally competitive profiles
Assuming you’re talking about MBA recruitment:
In good times, this is true. In okay or not good times, this isn’t the case and it will be a lot harder.
During the boom, you had former teachers for example who would get offers. That’s higher risk now in comparison.
I still think classic corporate experience is still a good background and believe there’s no difference between, say, big 4 consulting vs. corporate strategy at a bank. It gets tougher the further you get from traditional corporate.
For sure
I know plenty of former military that have gotten seats
Except for former military and diversity*
Is this for experienced hiring or lateraling in?
