Is it recommended to resign immediately or wait to get laid off? I’m asking because I heard that those who are let go that way get severance. Also, would the release be immediate for layoffs?

I am also of the opinion that wait for lay off.
Don't resign.

1. You will get 2 months basic or max 3 months full salary depending on your employment here.
2. You will have better chances of accumulating more financial backup with leaves also paid.
3. You will get immediate job calls if you say that you are available to join.
4. Negative is yes, you may not get a good hike in next company.
5. However, if you resign now.
A. HR will say 3 months notice and will not give you a single penny.
B. HR will ask you instead to pay them your early leaving full salary to them.
C. They will trouble you if you ask for early release.
D. Remember, HR will try to earn money from you because they know you are in a vulnerable position.
E. You will lose your joining date in next company.
F. And HR will release you immediately.. Leaving you JOBLESS...

So don't resign on your own..

If they Layoff, chances are and has happened.. You can re apply in Atos after 6 months.. Yes..
All the best👍

Hi there

What do I do? I’m terrified.

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Name the most ridiculous micro-managing by partners that you experience.

I’ll go first: MP told me that on initial emails, I am always to start with “Hello [name],” but after the initial email, I am not to address her by name again in the same thread. Initial greeting can only be “Hello [name] ” because just first name is too brisk and a “Hi [name]” is too informal. Had a 5 minute, in depth conversation as to why she prefers it this way…

Quick question.
I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?
