Wish I could find a remote job where all I do is text a customer
Try look for Chat Support. I have been in Customer Service over 30 yrs in some sort but my last 3 yrs has been in a call center which is absolutely the most stressful job I have EVER HAD! And to me it’s not the job. I can handle people that’s not the problem. The problem is the strict management that listen to your every word and constantly critiques you not following the script to a tee and deducting this and that and being on the phone too long and not asking every question in order or not asking asking enough it’s just beyond ridiculous! Your salary and raises on your QA scores which are done weekly and you’re just always so anxious about what you do or don’t say on a daily basis. It’s totally gone away from how I interact with these guests and making reservations for thousand of dollars cruises but more how many freaking deductions I will have taken off for the day. These guest love me and want to call back and talk to only me because they just don’t get nice, honest agents that give a damn about helping them! I love helping people and talking to people and would not Mind always having this type of career but I am just SO SICK of being scrutinized on a daily basis and someone always hovering over me to critique me that I just can’t do it anymore and every day you are given a different task that’s attatched to your daily jobs but it’s never with anymore money! Never! We have new cruise ships going out yearly but never anymore money to the front line workers who are the 1st point of contact on a daily basis. It has just really burned me out physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I stay sick, I stay so fatigued and I know it just stems from the stress at my job. These big companies are running away good help just because of the bull shit that’s out on our shoulders every day without a praise or compensation
Seems like it is so hard to find a non phone remote job period with good pay.
Experience : I was on the phone and said my greeting and I don’t know what agent had this woman but she went off on me and I could even say nothing. Then I said you gonna then she cut me off again got aggravated and told her okay bye. People don’t have to deal with other people bull crap at all!! Customer service is a bitch especially when you talking on the phone for 8 hours. Never again!!!!!
Do you not have a phone? Or you just don't want to use a phone? Do you have your own computer/laptop you would use? I feel like some part time or remote jobs wouldn't give you your own tech to use, so it might be necessary to have those things on your own. I think chat customer service work is definitely available these days though
Can’t find any chat customer service jobs though. I have my own laptop that connected to a monitor. I have WiFi and wired connection. I have my own room just for working in silence also.
Data entry is more or less automated now.
Oh, dang another job gone I guess for people!
From personal experience yes BUT the way I found my way off of the phones after being on them for a year and half, was sticking with my company & getting moved up and finding a new role within the company that got me off of them. so i’d say leverage your current company & apply to everything in side there because they will be more likely to hire you than an outsider
True.
I really would appreciate a remote job, I have a phone, I have a laptop and I would be so appreciative for a customer service job
The chat customer service jobs are among the first targets for AI bots, so there will be fewer and fewer of those positions available. Voice customer service (after you get past initial automated screening) is more difficult to do with bots currently, but that tech is getting better day by day. Ultimately most of the customer service jobs that require a human will be more in the support expert category (whether you talk or text) where you have to diagnose and solve problems versus more simple response and route tasks.
I feel you man. It drains the hell out of you
