Is it time to give up on those big, high paying corporate jobs and focus on getting referrals to smaller firms? I want the big salary but it seems that the larger the company the more willing they are to do layoffs right now.

I was laid off this month from a US-based company where I've been a reporter for the past 3 years or so... I live in Europe. I wonder if I'm likely to have luck with other remote-friendly US companies. Or are we already past that?

Need your suggestion, I recently cleared all round of interview for PwC and in Director round discussion come to know it's emerging technology team, I am in cloud technology .. he told me Hr will discuss for slary as I asked them for Gurgaon location I got an email from hr to fill all details usually we do after joining company like pf nominee bank account etc....
Do I expect offer after how many days it's already 5 days, no hr discussion for salary just they asked to share documents.

So someone I know asked HR about a boot policy. When he found out that there wasn’t one, but his boss said there was (who gave the guys $ for boots and the claimed it on his expense reimbursements as something else) the boss got mad at him for askingHR (and in trouble for the expense reimbursements) and then 2 days later laid off my friend. There appears to be no notice of bad performance and this person always was the first person on the job site ready to work. Thoughts?

Anyone else feel discourage ? I thought my interview went amazing and today I received the standard email rejection. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen those emails but this one hurt more than the others. I sat in my car and just cried. Hiding from my family, so they wouldn’t feel bad with me.
