Dude, that's what WFH is for.
Whoa. Can't believe you guys think that's reasonable. I'm from publicis and you get 15 + 9 flex + unlimited sick + 17 federal holidays hence why I am so surprised.
Guys get over it. IPG takes all your vacation, personal and sick days, calls them PTO, and allows you to use them as you wish. If you wanna take 20 sick days, knock yourself out. Seems like a better system to me.
If your company calls it PTO, it likely includes all days whether vacation, personal or sick. You can use them however you like. Stay healthy!
Was the same thing for me at McCann, another IPG agency.
I just went from the Publicis Group to IPG, and discovered they didn't have separate sick time either. I guesstimated 5-8 days of sick time each year since the unlimited factor is hard to gauge, and used it to negotiate another week of PTO.
We get a ton of pto. It's pretty great. No rules or categories just pto days to use as you may.
But I will add we don't get holiday week off which makes me want to 😭😭 every year.
18 + 3 summer days
I hated when I was actually sick while I worked there. You basically have to WFH cuz no one actually wants you to use PTO, but man there were a few days where I was dying.
You're from R/GA, asking a question on R/GA's policy on this app. Isn't that what HR departments and colleagues are for?...
Oh, I wasn't complaining. Just confirming OPs concerns by stating a fact.
At any agency I've been it's always been 15 days PTO/sick. But if you work while you're "off" (whether you're puking or in Peru) even just a little, those count as real work days and aren't taken out.
Paid Time Off. ANY time you're not working but getting paid. Includes holidays and company shutdowns, not just vacation, sick, personal, bereavement, etc.
OP, how many PTO days do you get?
18 PTO + 1 floating(can be used anyway you want) + 4 summer days. Plus we get the week off around Christmas. And obviously federal holidays.
I get keeping things simple. But you start blurring lines with sick time as PTO. You should give notice for PTO. Sick days... If you're giving notice you're doing it wrong. How do you keep people from being "sick" for 10 days in a row with this system?
Yup... but I don't report sick days. Just WFH duh
It's just a timesheet coding thing not an instruction on how to actually use the day but if you are sick and can WFH I do to keep the day and code it as WFH
Actually, if you look at the updated Publicis handbook, they've taken away our unlimited sick days and only allowing us 5 for the whole year... 😒
