Question for you all: Left D to Company A for a 50% raise in TC and slated to start in <1 week. However, just got an offer at Company B for a 100% raise in TC compared to D, or 30% raise in TC compared to company A. Both firms do similar work but B provides a more solid comp package. Job duties would be relatively similar. Is the % jump worth burning the bridge? Would have chosen Company B if the offer came sooner but the % difference in A to B is at my [personal] 30% threshold. TIA!
Thanks for doing this! Last year it was announced we would see a market correction in salary vs. the other big 4. What we got was underwhelming to say the least. What was the rationale behind this?

Is it wrong to not want a promotion? Ive been told I’m on track for one soon but I still have sooo much to learn at this level and I don’t feel ready to move up. I am, in fact, terrified of the next step and the responsibilities that come with it. Has anyone turned down a promotion and regretted it? Been glad about it?

Im a M at a Big 4 firm working M&A strategy. 10+ YOE, no MBA. I got here with an engineering degree. 200k+ TC. I’m considering a MBA, in fact, I got accepted to a top 20 school and will start part time in just over a month. Is it necessary at this point? Im already doing the work and learning what I need on the job. Do I need to put the stamp on it and make it official?
I feel trapped. We work hard, break glass ceilings, put in all the blood, sweat and tears needed to "make it". Usually twice as fast, with a babe on a hip - cooking, running a call. I'm over 50, solo and a parent & over the rat race. I've been putting out feelers and feeling the over 50 burn. I don't need to lead the world - a small piece would be nice, ok money. Fun people, easy roll, smart work, build smart people - cool teams. I get "you'll be bored here - we can't afford you". What2do?
