I would also consider that once you reach EM, you would still need to get a couple projects under your belt for the level to "count" during recruiting. If the extra time to reach EM + time spent at EM doesn't seem worth it, I'm sure there will still be great exit options for you. Making health sacrifices for an extra boost in the rat race isn't worth it when others are likely to catch up later on in the marathon anyways after you're burned out
Try me, OP 🙃
Maybe EM isn’t for you
Yeah, but completely burned out - like if I told you the year I've had, you won't believe me
Almost definitely isn't - yet that sentence is never pleasant to hear
I wouldn’t say it looks particularly bad but it may not help you much. It’s just short enough it could sometimes take that long for you or the firm to identify a poor fit, without having accomplished anything but marking time. Or you could have done amazing things, and left just before getting promoted. Context will make a big difference to what inferences people take from this.
P1- There is literally a post saying “a friend” of OP was laid off for switching. This you?
To answer OP - not a big change in opportunities. But if consulting is ever again an option in the future, then much better to wait till manager. Not bad at all to leave after 1.5 years
You're almost there?
Believe me, you can't beat mine. Ran around trying to change practice and got laid off in the process.
What firm are you at op? Strategy&?
OP - are you with us?
@P1. Sorry about that. Where did you move to? Or is Pwc your current gig?
Nope just "left" PwC
I don't know. I am not the op in the other post.
You dont need to disclose how long you have been a Manager. Examples and count of projects as M is enough
