Without a doubt - yes (disclaimer - we got a refurbished peloton for around 1200) and both wife and I avidly use it..
100%. It changed my life. I feel so much more energized and lost 12 lbs during quarantine. If you decide to buy, you can use my discount code for $100 off accessories ZPSTTD
It seems like if you really need the social / class aspect, it might be worth it. Otherwise, it’s an overhyped status symbol that’s not particularly well made and hugely overpriced. Just get a rowing machine ;)
We got a Sunny bike on Amazon (the nicer model - still not cheap at $700), and think the difference between our setup and a "real" Peloton is that a) we pay $10 a month instead of $45 and b) we don't get "output" metrics during the class (just cadence, but it's relatively easy to follow along on resistance). Otherwise it's an awesome solution and see no reason to pay another $1k+
Love my peloton...I’m 25 lbs down over the last 6 months bc of the bike and Beach Body weight training. It’s been a great way to connect with people I haven’t talked to in years, during a pandemic by doing rides together. It’s is slightly cultish...my username includes “KoolAid.” I also love it because even when gyms open up, I don’t have to budget in time for parking, and travel. I can do a 30 min ride and burn 300+ calories. And the days I don’t want to ride, there is a plethora of other classes I can take on the app and stream to my 65 inch tv to stay active.
I got myself the Bowflex C6 and an ipad with the peleton app. Highly recommend that setup to save about $1k and still get premium equipment
I bought a used Peloton for $1200 off Facebook Marketplace and, in my opinion, it’s definitely worth it.
I find that I genuinely enjoy the instructors which is a huge motivating factor for me. Before I got the Peloton, I couldn’t find the drive to work out, and when I did, I never really gave it my all. Now, not only am I looking forward to riding every day, I find myself working out smarter and more efficiently.
Once you find the instructors that you enjoy, the rides go by quickly and they’re really enjoyable.
I like the bells and whistles that it comes with, too, but if you’re not really focused on measuring output then it may not be worth it. The output helps me determine my progress.
