I use it as an email shortcut.
If anybody writing or replying to me has "PMP" or "CSM" in their signature, I bin the message.
My girlfriend is doing it now. She says that the material is laughable. I don’t know if anyone takes it seriously, but after her report on the classes I sure don’t
Skill wise no. Salary wise no.
Sometimes industry hiring managers like to see it. Useless though
Required for government contracts. Must have if you want access to many gov consulting opportunities
Depends on what type of consulting you're doing. Most PMPs I've come across are generally not very good and lean on the certification as a crutch.
IBM1, it's just a manual thing. Haven't gotten around to setting up VSTO macros yet (you'd need to at least regex to get the signature).
Like, even if you have a PMP, that's nice. But putting it in your email signature proves you're useless.
Thanks for ruining it for me. Been studying for it for a month now. I think having PMP helps with exit opportunities.
Get Scrum certified. It's 2018 ffs.
Don’t listen to the haters. If you want to have instant recognition of a strong traditional PM skill set, it is the best certification to have. At the end of the day, experience wins out, but the cert can open doors, check boxes, and put you over the top compared to someone who doesn’t have it.
I liked six sigma green/ black belt better .
As AM1 said, industry hiring managers like to see it. It’s not worthless and I’d say it’s widely regarded but can’t say how effective it will be for you. I’m wondering the same for my situation
Unless outside of federal
D1, do you autofilter / bin?
No
***useless
Getting scrum certified is nice - but so easy it’s laughable. One 2 day class with a simple test in the end. PMP also shows that you have the hours and experience. And once you have it you done if you keep up the PDUs.
