Accounting Today says 1,800 layoffs at pwc
they're not going to hire you, then fire you that quick. unless you are completely incompetent.
relax. go do your job interview. it's corporate America. A lot of places are laying off people right now. Not excusing it, but this is the reality we live in.
100% there is not a rule when it comes to talk about layoff. And in big corporations really doesn’t matter how good you are. They decide they don’t need you. They layoff you . After 1 month in the job , after 10 years, you spent evenings at work, you didn’t, you have family, you don’t , you have health issues or perfectly fine.
Personally the experience and resources PwC offers is worth giving it a try. I wouldn’t think that they would fire you unless you have proven to be incompetent.
What department are you applying for?
Even if you’re a good employee when a company is doing layoffs, you’re the new person and I think you could be at risk if they do additional layoffs. Different industry, but I do know of someone who started at a consulting company and was laid off in round two of the company with less than a year. The only reason they were not laid off in one was simply because they were out of town with billable hours. You could still do the interview .
