Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte

If you fly a lot and mostly with Delta, or your primary airport has a Centurion Lounge, AXP can be really valuable.
This 👆🏽invaluable when I was traveling to MIA every week (great Centurion Lounge)
Chase is way better, just canceled my Amex plat
Look at what you get for the fee. If you use all that stuff then the fee is “cheaper”

I just canceled my CSR for the Amex plat
I used the majority of the perks (minus the gym benefit since I don’t live in a major city), and I certainly believe it’s worth the fee, especially if combined with the Amex gold.
Agree with other comments, also think about what airlines you fly (or what hubs you’re close to). If it skews more Delta & partners Amex is better, if it skews more United & partners CSR is probably more worth.

AA flyers always getting the worst deal
It's a perk card. If you can find value in all the perks the card gives, then it outweighs the cost of the fee.
CSR is better and what I use the most, but priority pass doesn’t have a good lounge at my home airport so I also have the amex plat primarily for their lounge access.
Is food in the lounges free?
In the Centurion Lounge, all food and drink (alcohol too) is free… but they aren’t everywhere unfortunately… if you’re lucky enough to fly through an airport with one regularly, they are a Godsend
The platinum card has credits that can actually cancel out or create positive value unlike the CSR. You need to figure out for yourself how you value the credits though (ie I value equinox at $0 and thus far I value clear at $0 as well). The Amex Platinum also has the best lounge access out of any credit card.
If you are considering it, get it. In the first year you will get positive value due to bonus. Amex has a pretty high rate of retention offers in year 2 as well so maybe you cancel going into year 3 with the card but by that point it will be clear if it is worth it.
After a few years, you can snag a free year if you call and complain about the high fee/not utilizing benefits etc. they’ll give you a statement credit for the fee… but they’ll force you to stay with them for an extra year (after your free year)…
