The market is tough.. I am in the same boat
Definitely tough. My company (not EY anymore) announced layoffs for December. Hoping it doesn't impact me just so I don't have to deal with the market
It's just a bad job market, you'll see people referring to it as a white-collar recession. The economic numbers are good in regards to most people (though media and social media has created an unrelenting atmosphere of negative sentiment). But for some occupations, things are just looking bleak. And as waves of layoffs happen, the competition for jobs just becomes that much more difficult.
It’s really that difficult at the moment.
I've kept a steady rhythm for 7 months, 100 application per day local and global job applications.
There is something wrong with the market because in total of 21,000 applications i received only 28 interviews all of are them local.
I believe company owners and management staff received deep knowledge of budget cuts and profit margin expansion.
Worst side of the current situation is that 0% humanity is taking over and data collectors crossed the line with no one caring to stop them.
Def a slow market, I’d leverage using connections/people in your network along with recruiters to get in front of as many opportunities as possible
Oh no OP, the job market is really just that rough. I have friends in several different industries that have been looking for new jobs for six months and aren't able to land anything. So many companies are going through through layoffs so the job market is rough.
