Someone else can book on your calendar? What firm do you work for?
I was going to ask the same question as the person above. I haven't heard of anyone having access to book things over on your personal calendar. I am sure that is really frustrating.
So the short answer is not really. As a junior resource, your calendar should be the most free of everyone’s. I try to be mindful of focus time blocks, but realistically I will book over your focus time block if it’s the only time a director has available. You have other free time you can move your focus time into.
With that being said, try to be flexible with your time especially when on multiple projects. Stop trying to carve 2 focused hours, and bullet out a to-do list with tasks on it for the week, and subtasks if necessary where you can finish a sub task in 30 minutes between two meetings. If I truly need 2 uninterrupted hours, I’m usually doing it at 7am when nobody else is on.
