Is working at MBB really that good, half of the conversations on Fishbowl are about the glorious jobs at MBB. My personal feelings -- Most of the big names and big name schools produce managers (who have learnt to MANAGE) and not leader who can inspire.

For those that didn't make it thru their
MBB interviews and were told to reapply in a year, what point did you start studying again? Did you take a couple months off or still practice throughout?

I have an informational interview with a Managing Director on Friday about a manager role. I currently serve in a client services role and do not have traditional consulting experience (billable hours, etc.). Additionally, while I’ve worked with McKinsey, Accenture, McKesson, and other teams on major projects, I don’t have experience putting together the strategy, more of a support function.
