It's very sad, but that's the way things are. I'm encouraged that there have been more of these stories appearing over the years. I hope more companies get on board so retail workers can enjoy time with their families.

This isn't even news, Lowes has been closing on Easter for a few years, as the article eventually says. But they set up with "what we know" like it's the Pentagon Papers being leaked or something. Maybe they'll do a follow-up on whether America survived 24 hours without being able to buy a garden hose.

I tried to avoid shopping on major holidays, although I do know not everyone celebrates these holidays so you know it doesn’t necessarily make sense for everything to be closed and gas stations need to be open and I know movie theaters stay open

That’s cool for an employer to do that for their employees. Also a good reminder to stock up on Bloody Mary and mimosa supplies prior to Easter Brunch!

I do sales for a major engineering firm. Focused on new business and exploring new markets. Last year I was in the top 50% for order intake, and first in number of projects won along with number of new customers. I think this is extraordinary given the effort it takes to win new business.

For next year my goal increased by 2.5X, and less of what I bring in counts towards that target. I really enjoy my job but I will essentially be getting a large pay cut. Lost in what to do besides quit??

529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.

Does anyone have recommendations on which plan to go with for each child? I once did the pros and cons on a whiteboard and it seemed like 529 was better.
