Congratulations! As a licensed esthetician i recommend 100% cold pressed carrot seed oil. It works like a retinol by promoting cell turnover for clearer completion. I also would start using warming honey cleanser from is clinical line. Avoid retinols(Adapalene included), Tretinoin, acids such as salicylic, glycolic, acid, hydroquinone, chemical sunscreen oxybenzone, avobenzone, and octinoxate. Hope this helps and please don’t be so tuff on yourself. This is a special time, many changes with continue to occur within your body during and after pregnancy. 🧡
Ask your doc to write a script for Clindamyacin. I’ve tried a lot and it’s the only thing that kind of works.
I’ve just kind of had to ride it out unfortunately. I will say that article mentions the biossance moisturizer and I LOVE that one, it’s clean and felt like the only moisturizer that actually penetrated my skin. The key ingredient that works for me is squalene
I’ve had a hard time finding any sort of acne treatment or serums safe for pregnancy. A cleanser that also combats it (somewhat) for me, that I’ve been using for years (both pre-, during, and post pregnancy) is the Tata Harper clarifying cleanser. However, I think they might’ve changed their formula to now include AHAs & BHAs, which I’ve heard isn’t totally considered safe yet. Luckily I still have a bottle with the older formula but maybe at least that brand is worth looking into? I’ve found it to be very spendy but it’s worth it to me and it’s clean
I had to stop using a lot of the products that I was using, including prescribed Spironolactone and Tretinoin. I bought a glycolic acid toner and have been using that each night and tried to buy azealic acid in store but found that most of it was mixed with either salicylic acid or retinol, so my dermatologist prescribed me some. So far, that has been working for me. Niacinamide is also still in my rotation. I got a rice face mask from beauty of joseon for a good safe exfoliant, and also just bought a cheap red/blue light therapy mask.
I have terrible skin that historically has not been able to be treated with anything other than medications, but this routine is working pretty well for me so far. Good luck mama!
Yes, I did IVF and they told me to stop taking it when we got to a specific point

This happened to me too in my first trimester. Azelaic acid, Naturium brand from target + glycolic acid + pimple patches helped me, just be careful with the Glycolic cuz your skin may be much more sensitive than normal.
If you want to splurge, Biojuve Essentials Duo is amazing and kept me glowing all pregnancy.
Benzoyl peroxide was what finally cleared up my severe PP acne, and I still use it daily and in this pregnancy. Specifically, Differin cleanser with 10% benzoyl peroxide. I also highly recommend Acure charcoal scrub (nothing makes my face feel cleaner) once a week. Love both products

The Talm Mega Water Spray (used as a toner after cleansing and before moisturizing) did wonders for keeping my skin clear, and I used prescription Clindamycin on any zits that did pop up
I tried clindamyacin but found it so drying it was even worse. My esthetician (who I had been seeing bimonthly for 7 years), recommended 1) gentle cleanser, 2) skinceuticals phlorentin, 3) these glowbiotics pads which I used nightly, and 4) and this la roche posay moisturizer. Oh, and a crap ton of hero pimple patches…!
Pre pregnancy I used spirolactone, and once pregnant, I got horrible acne around 9 weeks especially on my neck??! This combo worked great for me. Maybe it helps you
