It's nice being the one everyone relies on, always delivering and getting the job done. But why does it feel like I'm stuck in the same cycle, handling tasks instead of stepping into a bigger role? When you’re good at what you do, people just keep piling on more of what you’re good at. It’s great at first, but after a while, it’s like you’re stuck in a loop. If you’ve felt this way, what’s been your biggest obstacle to breaking through to the next level? Have you found a way to push through, or are you still figuring it out?

Oddly have found some cool Russian metal bands recently that i have been listening to nonstop; Second to Sun is more of a black metal group, but has some groove thrown in every now and then, and Katalepsy is a death metal band with a little bit of core thrown in.

Why are town Hall meetings so impersonal? They are all about awards / the number of people hired. I know FCB health is large, but we never hear from people who aren’t Executives. Last town hall, when discussing inclusion efforts, there were no people of color represented and one of the 4 pillars of diversity was centered around our “reputation as an organization” (that really rubbed me the wrong way). At my last agency those conversations were always led by people of color from every level.

Our annual reviews are approaching & one of my direct reports has been with us for almost six years w/ little growth. Is there a corporate way to bring up to senior leaders that an IC is causing issues across multiple teams because they are demanding and also doesn’t collaborate well? The IC gives vague “direction” then says they are too busy to clarify. They also refuse to use our project management/ collaboration tools.

I had a great review and a 5.5% raise and a great bonus at my company. But I also got a new Director and a peer manager of mine left the company, so I will be absorbing her team. In addition, my director said I will be receiving 'deep delegation' from them. I don't mind more work, but deep delegation is a new term I've never heard. What does that mean lol?
