Just say AI a bunch and they’ll capitulate
If you’re at Health, I’d stay put until we hear more.
Consumer, probably going into the office
FWIW, I interviewed with Omnicom last year, and they were open to remote for editors at the IC level in a way they aren't for management or people in other job functions.
Like IPGH, probably works fine if your goal isn't to run a department.
We have fte remote editors
You need to be very very very special to pull off remote. Omni will force you in or find a way to let you go for non compliance sadly.
Pro
If Omnicom wants me in the office they better build one in L.A.
6?! Try 36!
It’s unlikely that they’ll make sweeping changes like that without disrupting the key staff that drive and deliver their businesses. They will always prioritize profits over policy.
If you’ve been making key contributions to your clients and agency, I don’t think you have to worry. But if your work can be replaced with someone in the office, then you might want to start talking to your manager to secure your role.
You can try full time WFH. I have that contract with Publicis as I started during the pandemic. I am not sure if anyone that would honor that schedule today though. They all want folks in the office. Imperfect as it is. WFH is coveted.
Hear you don’t even have to sit with your specific company/team. They just care you are in an Omni owned office. Doesn’t make sense.
Buckle up
Plan to be fired if you don’t move.
Not true. Half my teams are remote.
As someone who was recently moved to Omnicom Productions, they will absolutely make you move to a hub. Beginning of August, we got an email telling us that we must move to a hub - LA, Chicago, Dallas, Ft Lauderdale and New York. They are not offering moving cost help or pay increases if you chose a location that is more expensive than where you currently are. If you do not intend to move, it is seen as voluntary and you will not get severance. 🙃
What’s your experience been like at Omnicom Productions? My agency is part of the IPG acquisition so we are getting moved in too.
