No this just costs you money and increases the hassle factor. Both policies will want to be the secondary coverage, so you end with neither wanting to be your primary coverage. There is a secondary insurance market if you are looking for something to help cover your co- pay after your deductible. But it is rarely cost effect until you hit Medicare.
Do you currently exceed your deductible and copay every year?
The cheapest thing to do is to pick which employer has the best coverage and both use that. The other spouse should forego coverage with their employer.
Did you check w HR? Some employer plans charge a surcharge or totally deny coverage if your spouse's own employer offers them health insurance and your wife opts in. I opted to put my spouse on my insurance bc our district won’t let one double dip on health insurance, and bc my insurance is so much better - it’s covers everything, good luck
I did this for 2 years while trying to build our family through IVF. I saved tens of thousands of dollars by carrying 2 insurances but dropped one as soon as I had a baby and plenty of embryos stored.

One will always be considered secondary. You can be sure that if you have two policies they will each point at the other. Additionally you’ll be looking at multiple deductibles.
Horrendous idea.
This is such a dumb idea. You’d be paying out of pocket for two coverages and you can’t use both.
It depends on the terms of each policy regarding out-of-pocket maximums and your own medical expenses. If you have a large medical need, that requires constant expensive care, then yes, it would benefit you. If not, then you will still need to meet each of the out-of-pocket maximums first before coverage kicks in and in that case, you will just be paying for an unnecessary additional policy.
