I'd stick it out for now. Maybe not for stability, but because it's impossible to find work in a field you've got experience in right now. Or at least it is for me. I can't imagine how much harder it'd be trying to break into a new one entirely.
I have also been wanting to get out of insurance and research what else I may qualify well for. Good Luck! I think if you're employed, take your time and learn all you can with searches on the internet and talking to people like through venues like this one.
A good pivot is finance, if you have that aptitude. Finance is not going anywhere.
I did try to get out in my 40s. Being a vet tech wasn’t going to be very lucrative and there’s too much heartache in veterinary for me. Then I went to corporate B2B. The work felt completely void of meaning.
Insurance seems to give me a way to help people without also breaking my heart. There are lots of job types IN insurance. There are all kinds of insurance products. If you’re just at the beginning of your career, you can try different things within it to see what you might like.
In basically every industry, entry level candidates are faring far worse than people who have experience. Stay in the industry where you have the experience that can help see you through.
