I've heard a lot of people say an MBA application is a long process. What part of it takes the most time? As I read through the process online, it seems pretty straightforward, so I'm not exactly sure what causes the stagnation. Please share your experience so I can be well prepared before I go into it.

I kind of want to spend some time with family and travel a bit before an mba and if I get notified in Dec, I'd like to use the time I have in between on myself. I'm fine with losing out on pay, I made some smart investments that money is not the primary issue.
