Does anyone here work for Silicon Valley Bank? They recently acquired Boston Private. I’m a candidate for a job at Boston Private. Wondering if SVB is planning layoffs in the near term at BP? Also, does anyone know the anticipated benefits to be rolled out from SVB as the parent company? Specifically interested in health insurance providers. Thanks in advance for any information! Interesting! Isn't A&M exceptionally well compensated to be considering B4, T2 and MBB for ranks below Partners?
@KPMG1 Definitely. DM me
Did bonuses get paid out recently?
No.
No layoffs. Just the standard people leaving before the potential bonus gets high enough that it’s not worth leaving until after November.
I got an offer from KPMG, said no. But people still do move over
EYP1 are you one of those who left A&M ?
It’s poaching season - I’ve been offered an MD role and Principal role in the past 6 months. Imagine the others who are leaving are leaving for similar opportunities. 2 people also left in the past year to start their own companies. I wouldn’t exactly call this a bloodbath.
@AM1 - Not into one of them, the other was a tough decision. The door is still open with them but I chose to stay with A&M for the time being.
Last year utilization was low on average due to covid, so comp was down. Slow first couple months of fiscal could have had people start to interview elsewhere (my guess, anyway).
300k total comp for a SD is average for the industry, at best. I'm quite surprised, must admit.
Is that a regular year?
OP are you the same person who complained about A&Ms comp few weeks ago ? From what I know A&M is hiring a lot.
No, my comp was acceptable last year especially under circumstances.
It’s because the utilization is low that it would not make sense to wait for bonus you might only get train ticket to go somewhere; on flip side if you leave now you are eligible for bonus next year at new firm.
Apologies for high jacking this post, but I'm curious to how flexible are internal transfers within A&M? For example, from the FDD/TAS group to Restructuring.
It’s possible, especially if there is a slowdown in one area and surge in another due to the natural hedge of deals + restructuring being our specialities. A bunch of people with specific backgrounds (myself included) were cross-trained in RX basics last year.
