I've seen a lot of senior creatives and CDs who've either gotten laid off or jumped ship from an agency do the Freelance route. I want to be better prepared for if I need (or want) to go freelance for a bit, but I want to know what are things I can do know to set myself up for success. Was wondering if anyone has advice, or maybe resources to learn from or use for going freelance.

So... are agencies hiring, or no? I feel like one minute I’m witnessing layoffs, and the next I’m seeing job postings on LinkedIn.

Working at a company and they can’t seem to hold on to their female, black and people of color employees. I blinked and 3 of the people who were in my onboarding class were either fired or they left. For context I’ve been in company less than a year and there are people who have been in the company 25yrs. I’m thinking of cutting loose before it gets to my turn.

Layoffs. Most big firms say they're sitting on a conservative pile of cash - which I believe is true - but work will obviously not return to pre-COVID levels in the short term, probably not even in the medium term. Are Biglaw layoffs coming?

Anyone dealt with age discrimination at work or thought they were fired because of it? I have a strong hunch I was let go because I'm older than most of the team and they're trying to get a "fresh perspective." To me it just sounds like they're firing anyone over 50.

I took a product management course this year and it felt really good and different from the day to day of Talent Acquisition but I couldn’t help but wonder if it was the wrong time for this considering the state of tech. I got laid off due to economic impact recently and would appreciate any tips on how best to pivot careers to product as I am beginning to think that the only sustainable path for a recruiter is to start a business of your own.

About last layoffs, we didn't do any layoffs it's cost adjustments mostly in operation centers and restructure due new growth model. 🤷‍♂️

Hi, received an offer from another Big4 in Amsterdam (currently working in Eastern Europe), but relocating, I’m concerned about potential layoffs in the coming period being the last to join the team.

I have been laid off going on 3 months now and I’ve never felt so discouraged in my life. This job hunt for me has been frustrating and draining. It really has taken a toll on my mental health and maybe even confidence. I feel like I’m losing momentum. Any advice on staying positive throughout this journey? I made a couple errors at a new job. An important document to be distributed had wrong information on it, which was proofread by 2 other people. Then a couple of typos in emails, the person micromanaging me told me to send out but I didn’t fix the errors. Failed to meet a deadline but completed 95%. I was written up over all this last week, fired this week. There’s a lot more to this but I think it’s because the DM doesn’t like me.

I was going to be preparing myself for an interview for a T2 firm. I have about 7 months to prepare for the interview but am overwhelmed by a lot of conflicting advice on how to prepare. I am generally not the best interviewer but am confident of being a good fit for consulting.

I wanted to ask if anyone in a similar position (not great at interviews) managed to overcome this and how. I really want to nail this and am willing to spend a lot of time and energy to put myself through.
