Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

A dude who should’ve been fired for 2 years but didn’t.
Finally one day his manager caught him in a lie. He had billed 80 hours to do some work, and he asked to see it.
The dude fidgeted and said IT was giving him a new laptop and he had to find it. The manager confirmed with IT nothing had been touched.
Manager told him to get him the work by the end of the next day. He couldn’t. So he finally got fired.
Dude literally didn’t do anything for 2 years and ruined multiple projects before he got let go
I had to go extinguish multiple fires he caused on multiple projects. Everybody had been complaining

Usually it’s some sort of ethical breach. I’ve seen people get fired for falsifying expenses, for sexual harassment or inappropriate relationships, stuff like that. I’ve also seen MDs and a few Partners let go for missing their numbers a few years in a row.
Low chargeability with no marketable skills, i.e talky consultants who’ve progressed at a slower pace but never really contributed anything
I’ve never seen it tbh.
Asked an experienced senior to take notes during a 45 minute internal call and they were unable to complete the task
Don’t get on the boss persons bad side. Boss person isn’t your boss btw. It’s the person with the influence.
Stay busy. Be known in a good way so everyone likes you.
By all means don’t rub boss person the wrong way

Got drunk and said some very questionable things about people in the office. They were gone a couple weeks later.

“Poor performers” is a relative term. I would never judge someone to be one - unless they are my direct reports.

Let them support a partner when the partner asks for some small help on a project.
There are always poor performers, but also leaders who are bad actors. (Poor performers for real)
