Got messaged by a C3 . ai recruiter. Read that wlb is bad and that the interview process is absurdly long, but the Glassdoor reviews are 4.2 and can't find actual hours worked posted by anyone. How's the culture really? I'd be aiming for DS consulting, something more functional but with DS/ML concepts as my differentiator.

@G1 are they inventing the tools? I think that used to be the case but it seems that much of the new tech has shifted to industry.

Exactly! The irony! But I don’t blame them! The education section is not compensated enough to teach and prepare a generation with high standards and skills. When teachers get paid less than so many of us… what would be the incentive there to put extra effort and time to level up?
Traditionally I think love of teaching and students has inspired good teachers, but norms around respect for and expectations of teachers have really shifted. Just not worth the poor pay anymore for most people.

well Deloitte audits Microsoft so we have to be very careful about how we use MS products and gain agreement from QRM before we use any new MS tool not provided by the firm
You do understand how our audit independence rules work don't you? You should you've done hours of mandatory training on it.
The best part about school is that if you don’t feel like doing a great job on an assignment it doesn’t affect anybody but yourself.

There's a difference between using it in school instead of actually learning foundational basics or the approach vs using in industry for niche cases
I think the challenge will be who knows what right code is? A lot of factors including performance. There is good and bad code. Im in favor of chatgpt. I think outages will be bigger with it unless someone architects resiliency.
Its been a huge help with Python because I know what I need. I jumped into the deep end with a brand new framework, React to make a website, and it couldn't help me. I just didn't know enough to ask the right questions.
