Our connecting flight from JFK at 6:10 was cancelled while we were flying over the Atlantic Ocean, and we were rebooked on a 3:40 instead (2.5 hours earlier) but not notified. I received no email, text or app notification of the flight cancellation or the new flight we were placed on, so we missed it. They now cannot get us home tonight and won’t even guarantee they can get us home tomorrow, impacting my work, (cont)…

I am stranded in a foreign country, was traveling for personal reasons, because AA cancelled my flight citing weather concerns but is flying other flights at the same time. Is there a way for me to 1. Get an alternate flight that is not painful. 2. Escalate and get compensation? Thank you.

Late night thoughts and will probably delete this in regret but how do you deal with feelings of rage when seeing/hearing/experiencing injustices around the world? I’ve been trying to ignore them for a while now because 1) it can be too overwhelming and upsetting to engage sometimes 2) voicing my opinions on this subject has gotten me into trouble in my (“white”) workplace 3) i already have too much on my plate. I need advice.
I work at an manufacturing company as a technician. My job title is a technician but they use me as an engineer as-well. There are three techs overall in the company. My boss who hired me understands what my degree is in so he uses me to design parts and write reports. The plant manager doesn’t know my skills so anytime I’m in the office working he calls me to the floor to do something the other techs can do. Should I have a talk with the boss about it? Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.
