HCL Technologies offer being delayed and recruiter keeps saying that there's a problem with their "Offer release portal system." I have already stated my issues with relocating until after I have the offer signed and ready. The project is supposed to start on the 19th and I'm supposed to join before, or on that date. It's already coming up soon and I don't have the official offer so that I can confidently start the relocation process. Has anyone else recently dealt with this?

Any hot leads on Workers Compensation roles?
USI Insurance brokerage and consulting - thoughts? A recruiter reached out to me via linked in and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this company. They seem to have decent reviews on Glassdoor but I was hoping to get more insight into workload and comp. Thanks in advance! USI

I mean, rent is expensive. My hobby is enjoying my rent. And doing things in my house where I pay rent. I think that's an entirely valid answer, because hobbies these days are also very expensive 😆
I was asked what makes me tick and what my hobbies are. I too have no hobbies. I like to rest, play with dogs, clean and do errands . That’s my life. No time for hobbies.
The question is meant to relax the candidate and get them talking about something they’re passionate or at ease with. It’s normally a break the ice question.
Lol - no one's ever asked me about my hobbies, nor have I ever asked anyone about theirs. What on earth does that have to do with your ability to do the job? If they're asking you about hobbies, assume you aren't getting the job and they are just trying to kill time so it's not obvious.
@SF1 yes, bragging and self importance are what I look for on my team 😂 🙄
I can count on one hand the number of times I've been asked this in my two decades working. When it has happened, it's just seemed like the interviewer making small talk, not actually assessing my aptitude for the job based on what I do in my spare time. If you really don't have anything to say, lie. "I like hiking, working out and cooking. What about you?" They're not going to hook you up to a polygraph to verify it.
No hobbies OR interests? Surely you do something or think about something when not at work. They are just testing to see if you can make small talk. There must be something you can talk about, a book you read, an idea you researched, something that's important to you?
