Hey all ... i do PI litigation but i have a passion to help businesses with acquistions, business transactions (specific to dental and medical acquistions and sales), real estate transactions/estate planning. I know there are real estate transaction firms, estate firms, and corporate transaction firms...but i guess from being in the PI world so long (only 4 years) i do not even know what type of firms could possible encompass most or all types of the areas i want to be. Boomer. I am in between jobs. Laid off in 10/21 after 16+ yrs, with an ABA firm. RIF. Still on excellent terms. Took my time living off generous package and didn’t seriously start applying until 01/22. Made a rookie mistake and accepted first offer.

I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.
