Junior associate here - we always round up on time entries right? So working on something for 12 minute and 1 second is .3 . . . Right?

Always round up. Also, use timers (they typically round up by default).

like

I enter whatever my timer says at the end of the day. I think it rounds up when > 50% through the next increment (so 14 mins 59 seconds is .2 and 15 mins 1 second is .3).

like

My shit ass firm does this too. So you don’t get a .1 unless you bill 3+ minutes. Don’t worry, I fix it manually. Don’t work for free kids

If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.

like

I wouldn’t round up at 1 second over. But do at 1 minute over.

like

I would round up. Don't give discounts on your hours.

How did you give notice you were lateraling to people you like? Particularly if you haven't been there that long?

I'm lateraling to another firm because frankly I think the management of this one is terrible, but the people (and individual partners) I actually work with are awesome. I've only been here for about 18 months, so I imagine that short time frame will make it extra awkward 😬
