[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

Their job is to read the steps with you and help you understand them. That's it. They aren't your psychiatrist, they aren't your friend, they aren't your marriage counselor. They help you with the steps to stay sober. Some may go above and beyond but they aren't required to nor should you EXPECT more. Suggest you set up a dedicated weekly meeting time. Talk to them in between as needed or as they request.

My suggestion is to ask your sponsor this same question. There are no shortcuts or special hints or tricks, everyone's journey is similar and entirely unique. It's your sponsors role to walk you through the process.

My advice is to follow their advice (assuming they’ve had experience sponsoring before and have done the steps themselves). And congrats!!
Be HONEST. Be unwavering in your honesty. Do not compromise your sobriety for your pride or embarrassment. You are only as sick as your secrets, so make sure you are being above board. Secondly, even if you think their advice is stupid, do it anyway. Tell them you think it's stupid if that's helpful, but do it anyway.
