Just got an offer for a job that starts on May 26th. Can my last day be Memorial day? EY has that Friday and Monday off. I would prefer to get those paid holidays if possible. Thoughts?

How are you going to turn your computer in on a holiday? Plus do two days really make a difference?

The two days definitely make a difference lol...

See if there is any flex with moving the start date to 6/1. It’s a Monday and beginning of a new pay cycle at EY, so you have better chances for 5/29 to be your last day.

I impulsively spent $400 on concert tickets before I left my last job. Now I’m entering my third month at a new job and I’m worried it’s too early to take off to go. At the very least I would have to sign off an hour or two early to be able to make it on time. But I feel awkward asking because generally I wouldn’t take off this early. For context, I have unlimited PTO.

Can someone point me to some material where I can read about profit sharing vs 401k. I get the concept, but I am trying to understand is 10% profit sharing vested over 5 years better than an employee 401k match of 6%?

From my understanding 10% PS is better because it’s just a standard 10% on top of whatever I contribute though it takes 5 years to vest. Does this mean if I leave before 5 years I don’t get any of it?

There is an opportunity that I’m currently interviewing for that is very interesting to me. I’m interviewing two other places but I’m not responding to LinkedIn emails for other positions. The other positions don’t interest me as much. On one hand I don’t want to waste time prepping for all positions and rather put that time only for the ones that I have going on, on the other hand I feel like what is that falls through. Wondering if I’m making the right choice
