Random question, my boss wants me to become a notary so I can handle notarizing all of the official documents myself. Has anyone else been asked to do this for their employer? Is it ethical?

I was called into HR because a coworker overheard a conversation between me and another colleague taking about cable/streaming shows that we watched or recorded. I mentioned that I recorded a few true-crime shows. My colleague jokingly said, "I hope I'm not on your hit-list!". I replied, "Not anymore." HR pulled me in to say a coworker complained about me talking about hit-lists, and they were now scared. HR wouldn't say who complained, so do I have a right to ask about the resolution to this?

A coworker at non-work HH said something antisemtic to me. Do I talk to him about it or should I tell my manager and HR? I'm nervous about retaliation because I've experienced it before when reporting something to HR.

I’m a 1styear, and there’s one other junior associate of color in my group.
The partner I work for keeps calling me her name. For ex: my name is “Sara” and her name is “Jasmine”. Names not similar, we don’t look alike - but I suppose we are about the same complexion. I can’t help but think it’s because we’re the only two black juniors. I was granting her grace because my mom accidentally calls me my sisters name and stuff, I get that it happens. But now it’s becoming a microagression. Advice?

We have a high paying client that texts us ( me the other associate and the partner) at a late hour - usually 3 a.m. the first time the client did it, the partner wasn’t on the thread so I told him about it and he said he’d talk to the client. Now the client is doing it again. It has once again disturbed my sleep and I can’t go back to sleep when I start my work day in 2 hours. I’m pissed. What should I do?

I’m managing a team of juniors. So I find when presenting our ideas I say we all thought of these as a team. But today someone seemed aggravated with it. For background I call out those key players in my one on ones with my manager but am I in the wrong by not doing it in the presentation? Any suggestions on how to address the upper management teams' racial biases? Like, I don’t think anyone on the team is openly racist, or at least they aren’t aware of it but I have been with this company for about two months now and I can tell the difference in the way POC are treated vs. the white employees. For context, the leadership team is made up of 12 men (all white), and two white females. So, yeah, not sure how to address this.

My firm rarely fires associates right away and instead just stops giving them work until they literally have no work and then will fire them and say it’s because their hours aren’t good. How common is this and why do firms do it? It seems incredibly cowardly.

I will say this I love working with the students . I love getting to know them . I smile to myself when I go to work . I still feel this way after last week being asked my three different people about doing something where I told them that I was not going to do. following day I was then ambushed by admin (where I have never felt more like nothing.
