McKinsey & Company I received an offer from McKinsey & Company in 2021 and I’ll be starting later this year after graduation. Obviously because of the pandemic, inflation is slowly trending upwards. Has anyone asked for a base salary increase before even starting the job? Any advice on how to approach this?
Any news on mid year hike for coming jan ??

That sucks, even inflation had a better year than u. Sorry Op
Did get I bonus but it was also very low , around 1.5%
Grin and bear it - eventually it gets better. Significantly.
I agree this does sound low - you say it's your first review. Experienced hire? Potentially you have been caught in the base pay leveling that's going on. Possibly offered a higher than average inbound salary - hence the low increase. Just guessing without know your specific situation.
That's not a raise.. That's a tip!
Don't worry...I got 0% raise. It's all about normalizing salaries based on level. Not great for those already above their level, great for those below.
Mine was 29% and no I didn't promote
Market determines salary, performance is in the discretionary
Wow
Scorched earth
Be blown away if there was discrimination. We don't do that
Great feedback but got 2℅ bonus and 1.5℅ hike on base :(
It was an assumption (spoke with too much authority). Typically cm and cdo differ though. You should definitely talk to your career counselor though. We got all kinds of info to share on how adjustments were made
What level?
Associate Mgr - 8
Hang on - did you get an IPB or GAB?
Well it's good to hear it gets better!
Yep - first review/experienced hire
Accenture horribly under pays its consultants. All that crap about being public is a lie, you think JPM doesn't pay nice bonuses? Uncle D doesn't play with signal digit raises for top performers
C1... and neither does Accenture.
Bonus were fully funded most were double digit % pay outs
You need to have a serious conversation with your CC if you got 1% raise and 1.5% bonus and no stock. Seriously, forget the words.
Our market salaries are by practice (Strategy vs. MBB, Consulting vs. Big4, Digital vs. Tech, etc.) and by year (so SA year 2 or SA year 3) but they are competitive, we pay 60% of the market in the new model and adjustments have been made upward the last 2 years where we lagged.
