KPMG. PwC might jerk you around and make you be an associate for 2 full years. Its better for your resume in case you only end up doing it for one year. Also, more clear path to manager if you want to try to go for that title. A little signing bonus would be nice but if KPMG isn't willing you should forgo that bonus for the title.
Agree. Already seen a couple of cases.
Always get the title. People claim that recruiters understand that PwC is 3 years to senior and other firms 2 years, but I've been shocked at how little most recruiters know about the industry. Had one recruiter ask if I ever sign audit opinions (I'm an A3) 😂

KPMG
I had the same choice and chose PwC. I wish I took the KPMG offer. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
PwC will say that you will be up for promotion in the next cycle, but nothing is guaranteed. I went with them because I thought it would be easier to learn the technology/methodology before having Senior responsibilities but either way there’s going to be a learning curve. You’ll be an acting senior at PwC anyways so you might as well go ahead and get the Senior title.

KPMG. Hopefully you like it and stay a while but if not having the senior title will help you when looking for work after your first busy season at big four
KPMG
Communicate the KPMG offer to PwC and see if they are willing to match the title
KPMG said no so not sure what to think :/
PwC!
KPMG for the title. I’ve seen a lot of experienced hires struggle with the new firm/methodology. That’s not something you want to deal with in a promo year
Pro
That just makes it worse when you’re a senior and you can’t answer any questions
Follow-Up: Is it worth asking KPMG to meet PwC’s sign-on bonus $$?
I asked and they said no?? Not sure why
If PwC is not taking you in as S1, don’t go. I was in the same situation and told them my offer from Deloitte. They immediately approved to bring me in as S1. I’m curious about the comp from kpmg though🤣
If you’re a senior, don’t revert back to associate. This is counterintuitive to your career goals (I assume)
KPMG for title.
If it was me, I would try my best to keep the senior title
PwC of course! No one wants to be a wanna be 🤷♀️
Pro
PwC, better comp long term

How much PWC is offering you for the base and sign on?
Good point - I also was very clear that I’m iffy on the demotion so I guess good to know KPMG has faith I can handle the senior role
