Just started new job at BlackRock- no previous Asset/Investment Management experience. Any recommendations for books or tips on how to learn quickly?

Thinking about getting a MBA, partly for personal enrichment but also for professional reasons. I know schools all have different “cognates” but do people have recommendations that pair well with corporate/securities/financial legal practice fields?

25 and not sure business is for me. Thinking of going into specialized medicine but don’t want to be naive, as I know it is long and hard, with no financial rewards until late 30s. Thankfully I have the intellect. Any advice?

I am not finding a lot of stuff written for lawyers specifically , but there is a lot directed at “managers” in business generally that I imagine could be applicable.

How easy is it to move from an investment bank firm to a tech company?

Hello! Looking for some guidance. I will soon be leaving Verizon after 15 years with them (6 years HR experience, 3 years Operations, 6 years leadership). The last HR position I held will be eliminated and I was offered a severance. I am now in the market for a new place of employment I can call home. I was thinking of trying for a start up. But the likes of Google, Adobe, etc. also seem appealing. Would you recommend a start up as my next endeavor? I enjoy helping build processes and policies.

Due to obvious conditions my comp for the calendar year (salary+bonus) is back to 2017 levels although my overall sales are more than double and 1/3 less total comp than last year. It seems like comp opportunity is always decreasing during good times (I get it) but when it comes to adjusting during bad times, nothing was done. Is this normal for industry sales?

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA?
