You are sick.
Call in sick.
The world will keep turning.

Assuming the presentation is virtual, buck up if it means that much to you to participate. Otherwise I’m sure the team will understand and manage
D1, what’s WLB at your firm?
At worst you’ll have a stuffy nose. If you’re virtual Just preface with the whole, “apologies I think I’m coming down with something”. If on-site don’t go.
No worries SC1, just wanted to make sure OP thought about contingencies.
My case was/is still mild but developed a constant cough that would make it hard to talk for more than 10 seconds at a time, let alone present.
Ask to reschedule to next week because you have Covid…
Work remotely if you feel up to working at all. Feel better friend.
Just do it virtually. If they ask, just tell them the truth, not like they would force you to come in with covid.

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST.
Your team will figure it out.
People here really act like if they take one day off of consulting that people will die… the team will survive, sure you might not get your 15 minutes of Deloitte glory (assuming things go well) but you’ll live to fight another day
Is the question about having to be in person, or not getting the work done due to being sick?
Most people at this point should get the whole Covid thing
Well I wouldn’t suggest winging it lol. If you can’t work in the lead up, tell your team and get cover
Is it in person? If not, tell the team you have Covid, and will have reduced bandwidth tm to rest for presentation
Chat with the partner team. Likely no one sees it that way. They’ll remember the great work that you put in to get here and all good ideas you e had. Chances are, at this point everyone has a very good idea of your potential and work ethic.
Be upfront and honest about your concerns. Express how invested in this project you are. It’ll be fine. We do hundreds of proposals a year. If it sells, you’ll still get the nod.
I haven’t seen anyone be able to perform at their usual level and it creates a lot of frustration for them and the team. Most folks report they have a really hard time staying focused and make silly mistakes…I personally would just try to avoid that and don’t work.
Ask yourself this, “what is the most important outcome of this presentation?” If the answer is, “to win the client business” or to ”make the client happy”, then talk with your leadership and figure out the best way to accomplish that goal.
