Kind of random but not sure where to ask this but trying to get some advice. I live in a 4 bedroom (flexed living room) in nyc. Our one roommate told us his parents are visiting from overseas, but never said how long. We find out today it’s for a month, and me and the other 2 roommates aren’t too crazy ab 6 people in a 4 bedroom. He never asked if they could stay that long beforehand etc. Is it too much to ask them to chip in some sort of $ as they will be using our kitchen, laundry, etc a lot

Thoughts on convincing gf to stay? 27M dating 28F for ~1.5 years. We knew each other in HS and reconnected during the pandemic. Everything was so connected, compatible and hot, and we planned a life together. We thought we met the loves of our lives. We moved to NYC in January. Lost intimacy and connection. She’s unwilling to work on things. Such a genuinely talented and beautiful woman, but has trust issues and depression from being overworked. Thoughts on convincing vs surrendering / leaving?

My marriage is beyond repair I think. Husband just said we keep having the same conversations over and over in the past year about things we’ve been trying to fix. Is a year enough time? 11 years together for reference. And I don’t think his statement is true - he literally mentioned one of those things last week that he was happy about. I just can’t do it with these vague statements in arguments.

Am I going crazy? I feel like my close friend is always trying to “one up” me in conversation. Any time I make a point, they will go out of their way to prove I’m wrong with some sort of stat or evidence. It’s like they need to have the last say.

They try to make me look bad at times without noticing. I don’t know how to approach this as we are all in a pretty tight friend group.

Has anyone had roommates who got sick with Covid and they managed to not catch it from them? If so, what precautions did you take? We have a good relationship and so far he’s been staying in his room and using a mask whenever he needs to use the restroom or grab water from the kitchen. I am the only one who touches the fridge and takes his food out so he can eat. What else can we really do?

My fiancé will NOT stop talking about her ex. After I found out they were texting arguing she justified it by saying it was about the dogs and not them. Even though Her social media is full of his pics. She still sends him $50 a month for dog food, still goes to work right by his place and suspiciously needs keys. I try to bring it up and I get dismantled for being too mean and making “false accusations.” How much more obvious can it be?

When, or if you set time aside to take care of yourself or do something for yourself, what do you do? I'm realizing I don't really have any "healthy" ways of relaxing outside of work, so drop whatever you got. It's starting to affect my personal life and I'm worried I won't be able to have healthy relationships unless I can take care of myself first.

What are you all reading other than maternity help books? Any book recommendations for after baby is born? Mainly around how to keep the baby safe from injuries and incidents.

The biggest thing I keep running and running around my head- after 8 months, why did he drop me? When he texted ending it l….it wasn’t me, like we weren’t us, his words were from someone else, like I didn’t matter. It doesn’t matter how much it wasn’t about me, how he chose to end it, and that’s what crushed me. Who I thought I knew was wrong. I want to know how close he was to loving me.

IBD came to states at 8. My cousins back home are getting arrange married. My parents are starting to pressure me and pity me. But I have no interest in following a "timeline" and am pretty ambivalent when it comes to kids. I already have a SO and do not see a reason to tie the knot just because other people my age are. My SO is an alcohol abuser but has said he knows it’s a problem and would like to cut back or quit. Any suggestions or advice in how to help and cope with this. He becomes a different person when he drinks. I want to support him but don’t know how or where to start.

I did and it's killing me because now I'm working till 2 am, but its not showing on paper. I o ly show 8 or 9 hours. But, I would rather not get yelled at from the client or director for going over budget. The budget is super tight, like 1.5 hours per workpaper and my associate already uses all of it.
