No way should you take Manager level
Rising Star
Absolutely not
I am ex-KPMG. No, don’t accept the manager role. Managers at KPMG would be more like a Senior at Deloitte. They don’t have counselees. This would be a huge step down.
My experience is from a few years ago. When i was there, managers didn’t have counselees in financial management in advisory.
The only thing I would be hesitant about is if you are bringing your own book of work and clients with you to be able to sell immediately.
D level at KPMG has the pipeline and sales targets on their back from day one, and you won't have a network to help feed leads to you. Also be aware that there's no shared sales revenue model, and you're at the mercy of partners that allocate it for political capital.
Demand generation and industry recognition with an existing network of sales leads isn't a red herring in my experience. I'd be interested in hearing something different as well, because the only exception was hiring client ex-employees to be the winer and diner account management leads.
They were responsible for identifying the decision makers and greasing the skids to convert pipeline opps.
Hell no. Managers can have as little as 5-6 YOE, especially if they are campus hires. No way you should be there.
