You’ve got this! Your dream job wants you, you must be pretty AWESOME

January is a long time away. Depending on your level and the company it’s weird they’d interview you now but not be able to make a formal offer for another 5 months - is this a campus hire type situation?
Some saying about a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush...I’d consider your verbal offer the two in the bush.
Keep looking but with the added confidence that people want to hire you!

OP, that would be my concern. Are they waiting/hoping for things to get better or so long as things don’t get worse (ie are they stable but not ready to hire or sinking)? Obviously you wouldn’t be privy to that info but you certainly wouldn’t want to turn down another offer and then find out in Jan they can’t make it or accept the offer, start, and then have them go through a lay-off.
Still, best of luck to you!

Had a similar situation earlier this year. Took another job in the meantime, just submitted my resignation a few months in. Starting the dream job on Monday. Good luck to you! It’ll work out.
Best of luck. I struggle with that as well. I’ll be rooting for you.
Ive always admired BCG from afar. If this doesn’t come through I’m going to come banging on their door finally to see if I can get in.
I think you're probably making the right call continuing to look. A bird in the hand is far better than a bird in January.
TLDR: congrats on the offer, but go grab a bird
Thanks :)
This is the logic I’m running with at the moment. I at least know what I can call for on the market - so I got that going for me as well. A signed contract pays more than a promise.
Take that time to overcome or at least help with your imposter syndrome before your new job begins. And by the way, it’s completely normal to have imposter syndrome. Be positive. Also, ask the company if there is anything you can do to stay abreast before your start date so you can hit the ground running. You got this!!! 👊👊

Easy for me to say, but if I were in your shoes, I will continue looking and also take the time to upskill, like get atleast 24 hours of CED hours every week.

Secondly whenever I hear dream company I immediately think FAANG. Then I realize same sh!t different day/company
Contractor positions could be a good option in the meantime to fill the gap
