also agree it’s a huge asset to strategy teams!
strategists so often have to project manage themselves when the PMs are more focused on managing creatives. if you understand the needs/timelines/pressures of strategy, you’re better equipped to work with future PMs or in leadership roles on behalf of strategy teams.
also, if you decide you want to look towards client side, so many roles are looking for operations + strategists - something many strategists don’t inherently have, as we’re so often removed from the production side. that could be a really interesting path if you like toggling between the two roles
As long as you can make a case for what youve learned and how it has made u a better strategist, I think its an asset.
I think it could turn some people off. PM work varies from company to company but I can’t help but feel creativity/inspiring ideas and PM work don’t seem like the same skill set. That being said, if you can make a case for being the person that drive projects forward, brought together different resources etc...then it’s a big asset.
